This paper examines the egalitarian movement led by Banda Singh Bahadur as a transformative phase in Sikh and Indian history, situating it within the broader crisis of Mughal authority after 1707. Drawing upon contemporary Persian chronicles, Sikh narratives, and modern historiography, the study argues that Banda Singh Bahadur’s leadership represented not merely a political rebellion but a conscious project of social reconstruction. By dismantling caste distinctions, appointing individuals from marginalised communities to positions of authority, and extending equal status to Hindus, Sikhs, and Muslims, the Khalsa regime sought to reconfigure the moral foundations of governance. Equally significant were Banda Singh Bahadur’s agrarian reforms, which transferred land rights from absentee zamindars to cultivating peasants and reduced the revenue burden, thereby undermining feudal domination. The movement’s commitment to religious tolerance, evidenced by the protection of Muslim religious practices and participation of Muslims in the Sikh army and administration, challenges colonial and Mughal portrayals of the uprising as sectarian violence. This paper contends that the egalitarian experiment under Banda Singh Bahadur constituted one of the earliest attempts in India to align political power with social justice and popular welfare. Though short-lived, the movement left a lasting imprint on the political imagination of the region by demonstrating the possibility of a humane, inclusive, and people-centred order.
Dr. Dharambir Copyright (c) 2026 All articles published in this journal are lincensed under a https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2026-09-28 2026-09-28 4 9(Sep) 1 7 Employee Engagement and Its Influence on Organizational Performance https://ijlapt.strjournals.com/index.php/ijlapt/article/view/322
Employee engagement has emerged as an important determinant of organizational effectiveness in contemporary workplaces. It represents the degree to which employees invest their cognitive, emotional, and physical energies in performing their work roles. Engaged employees demonstrate enthusiasm, dedication, initiative, and a strong connection with organizational objectives. This article examines the influence of employee engagement on organizational performance through a review of established theories and empirical studies. The analysis indicates that engagement contributes to higher employee productivity, better service quality, stronger innovation, improved customer satisfaction, lower absenteeism, and reduced employee turnover. Meaningful work, supportive leadership, recognition, career-development opportunities, organizational justice, effective communication, autonomy, and psychological safety are identified as major drivers of engagement. The article also applies Kahn’s engagement theory, Social Exchange Theory, and the Job Demands–Resources model to explain how workplace conditions influence employee attitudes and performance. Although employee engagement generally produces positive outcomes, excessive job demands and poorly designed engagement initiatives may cause stress, work intensification, and burnout. Organizations should therefore adopt an integrated engagement strategy that balances performance expectations with employee well-being, participation, and adequate workplace resources. The study concludes that employee engagement should be treated as a long-term organizational capability rather than a short-term human-resource programme. When supported by ethical leadership and employee-centred practices, engagement can generate sustainable improvements in both individual and organizational performance.
Dr. Michael Anderson Copyright (c) 2026 All articles published in this journal are lincensed under a https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2026-09-28 2026-09-28 4 9(Sep) 8 15 Role of Transformational Leadership in Enhancing Employee Productivity https://ijlapt.strjournals.com/index.php/ijlapt/article/view/323
Transformational leadership connects a shared organizational purpose with employee development and participation. This conceptual narrative review examines how idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration may support employee productivity. It draws on the supplied leadership literature, including meta-analytic research and studies of work engagement. The discussion identifies motivation, trust, engagement, learning and coordinated effort as potential pathways to better performance. Evidence supports positive relationships between transformational leadership and performance, while interpretation depends on the outcome measured and research design. Productivity should be assessed through quality, timeliness and resource use as well as output volume. Leadership can support these outcomes when managers translate vision into clear priorities, practical coaching and adequate resources. Its effectiveness may be limited by excessive demands, weak operational systems and dependence on a charismatic individual. The review proposes a balanced implementation approach involving employee voice, fair assessment and continuing evaluation. It reports no new survey or experimental data. Transformational leadership is most useful as part of a wider management system that supports capable employees, realistic goals and sustainable work.
Dr. Kunal Patil Copyright (c) 2026 All articles published in this journal are lincensed under a https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2026-09-28 2026-09-28 4 9(Sep) 16 20 Digital Transformation and Sustainable Business Growth https://ijlapt.strjournals.com/index.php/ijlapt/article/view/324
Digital transformation has become an important driver of long-term business growth in an increasingly competitive and technology-oriented economy. It involves the strategic integration of technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big-data analytics, the Internet of Things, automation, and digital platforms into organizational processes, products, services, and business models. This article examines how digital transformation contributes to sustainable business growth through operational efficiency, innovation, customer engagement, strategic agility, environmental responsibility, and improved decision-making. The study employs a conceptual literature-review methodology based on existing peer-reviewed research. The findings indicate that digital transformation can reduce operating costs, improve resource utilization, enable data-driven decisions, expand market access, and support the development of environmentally and economically sustainable business models. However, its benefits are not automatic. Financial constraints, cybersecurity threats, employee resistance, inadequate digital skills, weak technological infrastructure, and the environmental impact of digital technologies may restrict its effectiveness. The article argues that sustainable outcomes require organizations to align digital initiatives with corporate strategy, environmental objectives, employee development, stakeholder expectations, and responsible governance. Digital transformation should therefore be treated as an organization-wide strategic change rather than merely the introduction of new technology.
Priya Nair Copyright (c) 2026 All articles published in this journal are lincensed under a https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2026-09-28 2026-09-28 4 9(Sep) 21 27 Talent Management Strategies for Employee Retention https://ijlapt.strjournals.com/index.php/ijlapt/article/view/325
Employee retention has become a strategic priority as organizations compete for skilled employees in increasingly dynamic labour markets. The departure of experienced employees may result in the loss of institutional knowledge, productivity, customer relationships, and considerable investment in recruitment and training. Talent management provides an integrated approach to attracting, developing, engaging, deploying, and retaining employees whose competencies contribute to organizational success. This article examines the principal talent management strategies that influence employee retention through a narrative review of established academic literature. The findings indicate that strategic workforce planning, selective recruitment, effective onboarding, career development, succession planning, competitive compensation, performance recognition, employee engagement, inclusive leadership, work–life balance, and internal mobility can reduce employees’ intention to leave. The analysis draws upon Human Capital Theory, Social Exchange Theory, Psychological Contract Theory, and Job Embeddedness Theory to explain why employees remain in or leave organizations. It argues that compensation alone cannot ensure long-term retention; employees also evaluate career opportunities, managerial support, meaningful work, fairness, organizational reputation, flexibility, and workplace relationships. A successful talent management system must therefore align employee expectations with organizational requirements while providing differentiated support for strategically important positions. The article concludes that employee retention is most sustainable when talent management is implemented as an integrated and evidence-based organizational system rather than a collection of isolated human-resource practices.
Dr. Rafael Costa Copyright (c) 2026 All articles published in this journal are lincensed under a https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2026-09-28 2026-09-28 4 9(Sep) 28 33 DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION: ROLE OF ONLINE EDUCATION AND ED-TECH INNOVATIONS IN SKILL DEVELOPMENT FOR A VIKSIT BHARAT 2047 https://ijlapt.strjournals.com/index.php/ijlapt/article/view/327
The rapid advancement of digital technologies has significantly transformed various sectors, including education and sports training. Physical Education, traditionally dependent on face-to-face instruction and practical engagement, is now experiencing a paradigm shift due to the integration of digital platforms, online learning tools and educational technologies (Ed-Tech). The concept of Digital India and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 emphasize the importance of technological integration in education and skill development. In this context, digital transformation in Physical Education offers new opportunities for enhancing learning outcomes, improving sports training methods, and ensuring inclusive education. Online education platforms, virtual coaching, mobile applications, wearable fitness technologies and artificial intelligence-based training tools are playing an increasingly important role in modern sports education. These technologies allow students, athletes, and educators to access training resources, performance analytics and instructional content regardless of geographical limitations. Especially in rural and remote areas, digital platforms can help bridge the gap in access to quality sports education and coaching. This paper explores the role of digital transformation in Physical Education with special reference to online education and Ed-Tech innovations. It highlights the benefits, challenges and future possibilities of integrating digital technologies into sports education and skill development. The study also examines how digital tools can support the development of physical fitness, sports skills and professional competencies among students. Furthermore, the paper discusses how digital transformation can contribute to achieving the national goal of building a technologically empowered and healthy nation by 2047. The findings suggest that integrating digital technologies in Physical Education can enhance teaching effectiveness, improve athlete performance monitoring and promote lifelong fitness habits. However, challenges such as digital literacy, infrastructure limitations and accessibility must be addressed to fully realize the potential of Ed-Tech in sports education.
Dr.Chetan Mahadik Copyright (c) 2026 All articles published in this journal are lincensed under a https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2026-09-28 2026-09-28 4 9(Sep) 34 38
