Abstract

Post-surgical recovery is influenced not only by physiological factors but also by psychological resilience. Psychological resilience affects pain perception, functional outcomes, emotional well-being, and overall recovery trajectories. This study examines resilience pathways in post-surgical recovery from a psychological perspective. A systematic review of 35 peer-reviewed studies published between 2010–2025 was conducted. Findings indicate that higher resilience correlates with better physical and psychological outcomes, mediated by coping strategies, social support, and self-efficacy. Interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Problem-Solving Therapy (PST) enhance resilience. Understanding these pathways provides practical implications for clinicians to optimize recovery outcomes.
